About Me

I’m Nadjla Agahbanaei, though most of my clients call me Naj. I’m a registered clinical social worker with 17 years of experience supporting individuals aged 16+ with their mental health in both healthcare and educational settings across Ontario.

Practice Philosophy

While psychotherapy and corporate wellness differ in scope, both are guided by a shared commitment to sustainable well-being through insight, compassion, and evidence-informed care. My practice is grounded in a holistic view of well-being, connecting mental, emotional, physical, social, and, where relevant, spiritual health.

Across all settings, I aim to create spaces that are grounded in respect, curiosity, and thoughtful reflection, whether working with individuals or supporting teams within organizations.

Approach to Psychotherapy

(Ontario Residents Only)

Therapy with me starts with trust. I focus on building a real connection, because meaningful change happens when you feel safe enough to be honest.

My approach is grounded in harm reduction and informed by clinical expertise, shaped by authenticity, respect, and emotional attunement. I’m present, attentive, and honest. No jargon, no fluff, just clear, direct conversations about what’s actually going on in your life.

I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. I actively work with you to understand patterns, challenge what isn’t working, and use practical, evidence-informed tools that you can apply in your day-to-day life.

We center your lived experience while also making sense of how broader systems, identity, and life context shape what you’re dealing with.

My work is inclusive, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and culturally responsive, with deep respect for your values and what matters most to you.

I believe change happens when your choices align with who you are. My role is to offer clarity, direction, reflection and skills you can use day-to-day, without pressure or pretense so you can show up authentically as you are.

Corporate Wellness & Workplace Well-Being

In organizational settings, I deliver non-clinical, evidence-informed programs that promote employee well-being, stress management, and positive workplace dynamics. Drawing on experience with workshops, large-scale presentations, and international webinars, I equip teams with practical tools to manage stress, enhance focus, and sustain performance while fostering a culture of mental wellness.
