Claiming Social Work Services on Your Taxes ​​As a Registered Social Worker in Ontario, my services are eligible medical expenses under the Canada Revenue Agency’s Medical Expense Tax Credit (METC). Clients may be able to claim the cost of therapy on their tax return. (Please consult the CRA or a tax professional for details about your specific situation). ​ Insurance Coverage for Services Many insurance plans offer coverage for “social work services” or “counselling provided by a registered social worker.” Some plans make a distinction between BSW and MSW credentials, while others do not, instead they focus on whether the provider is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.​ I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm the details of your plan. I'm happy to provide any information you need to support that conversation. ​ Cancellation & No-Show Policy I understand that life happens and schedules can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, are subject to a full session cancellation fee. ​ ​
